Serengeti Migration Safari 8 Days

DAY 1 - Arrival
After early morning breakfast, we begin our drive to the Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro with a few stops during the journey at interesting scenic points for you to take pictures and get the full experience of your Tanzania Classic tour. The drives from Arusha to Serengeti National Park is approximately 6 hours and we will make provision for your lunch during the journey by providing you with enjoyable lunch boxes to allow for us arriving timeously for afternoon animal sightings in the Serengeti.
After an early breakfast in your comfortable lodge. you will drive to Tarangire National Park with packed lunch for a game drive. This lovely park has the largest concentrations of elephants in the world and the highest number of breeding bird species. Especially during the dry season, Tarangire National Park is packed with wildlife. Big cats like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, but also the seldom-seen Kudu, Oryx, and Gerenuk. The Tarangire River draws huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, as well as predators who prey upon them. Post the game drive, you will head to accommodation for relaxation and where a delicious dinner and overnight await you. Accommodation will be Octagon Lodge situated amidst colorful and exotic gardens and provides a perfect base for visiting the Northern Parks of Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti.
After breakfast, you go on a walking tour in the farming town Mto wa Mbu. This village is unique in Tanzania since it is home to over 120 different tribes from across Africa and forms a colorful mix of customs. Your walking guide will take you to rice and banana plantations, a local beer factory, a school, and a carving factory. Discover the traditional way of life of the villagers. Continue to Lake Manyara National Park, which is only a few minutes’ drive from Mto wa Mbu. Lake Manyara is known for its huge soda lake filled with pink-hued flamingos, a large population of baboons, incredible birdlife, and breathtaking views. You can see giraffes, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, and flamingos, and if you are lucky you spot a tree-climbing lion. Post the game drive, you will head back to accommodation for relaxation and where a delicious dinner and overnight await you. Accommodation will be Octagon Lodge situated amidst colorful and exotic gardens and provides a perfect base for visiting the Northern Parks of Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti.
 
 

This morning you drive to the famous Serengeti National Park. On the way, you will stop at a Maasai village to get an insight into the lifestyle of these graceful warriors. Upon arrival in the Serengeti, you first have a picnic lunch and then continue with a beautiful game drive. There is a big change you can see the Great Migration of wildebeest crossing the Mara River in this area of the Serengeti between June to September. The herds must outsmart the crocodiles and fast-flowing water before facing predators waiting on the other side. An amazing spectacle. Dinner and overnight are at the beautiful Serengeti Heritage Tented Lodge Kogatende North Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

Starting your day after a heavy breakfast, today you will head south towards the central Serengeti. The 4-5 hrs drive to the center will offer mild en route game. The drive south from the Mara River valley takes you through hill country, the Lobo area, woodlands, and then back into the Seronera terrain. The central portion of the Serengeti – known as the Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. As you make your way into the Seronera region, you will begin to notice the hilly and broken terrain altering into plain grasslands. Here, one must really look out for the many lion pride that thrives in this region. The interactions and survival of these lion pride provide an excellent game-viewing experience all year round. A picnic lunch will be done during the day-long drive itself. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation. Dinner and overnight will be at the Serengeti Heritage Tented Lodge Central, where a delectation of dining, rest, and, relaxation awaits us, and sleep upon the ‘Endless Plain’ as our mind’s eye roves over the sights and sounds of the day.
 
After having a delicious and heavy breakfast, depart for a game drive you will leave Serengeti with a game drive to explore the central portion of the Serengeti National Park today while heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central portion of the Serengeti – known as the Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. During the off-season of the migration, one must really look out for the many lion pride that thrives in this region. The interactions and survival of these lion pride provide an excellent game-viewing experience all year round. Along with a picnic lunch during the full-day game drive evening. We are completely flexible with your preferences and this day will be doing another full game drive since the Serengeti is large and vast we can find different areas to exploit and spot animals and when you are lucky enough you can even see some events such as animal hunting and fighting. Later on after this beautiful scenery tour full of memories, we start our en-route game drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, on the way we will be able to spot different animals and bird species, then upon our arrival at Ngorongoro Conservation Area dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge. Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge, situated only a few hundred meters from the crater’s rim, offers a perfect base to explore the Ngorongoro Crater and its surroundings.

After an early breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch and drive to Ngorongoro crater for a full day of game drive. You will wake up early morning, having your breakfast in the morning before starting to depart to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive, the 600 m deep caldera will descend the crater for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq. km with a depth of over 2000 feet. Ngoro Ngoro Crater is the largest collapsed volcanic crater in the world and has fourteen kilometers of isolated natural beauty. Ngoro Ngoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor, dotted with watering holes, shelters some 30,000 animals. The 5-6 hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. Since Ngorongoro Crater is compact you can have access to see different and many animals and birds in a short period of time. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs, and Lions are found in plenty, afternoon you will head out OF Crater to Arusha town to complete our tour, or you can be taken directly to the airport ready to catch your flight to the next destination.
