Day 01 :

Rongai Gate – Simba Camp

Elevation: Approximately 1,950 m to 2,650 m

After breakfast and a detailed briefing with your mountain guide, you will travel to the Rongai Gate area on the northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro. After completing registration and final preparations, your Kilimanjaro adventure begins.

The first day's trek takes you through the beautiful montane forest of Kilimanjaro's northern slopes. The trail is relatively quiet and peaceful, offering a wonderful introduction to the mountain and its natural wilderness.

As you gradually gain altitude, the forest begins to open up before you arrive at Simba Camp, where you will enjoy dinner and spend your first night on the mountain.

Second Cave Camp – Kikuletwa Cave Camp

Elevation: Approximately 3,450 m to 3,600 m

Today's trek is relatively short, providing valuable time for your body to continue adapting to the altitude. The trail crosses open moorland and increasingly dramatic volcanic landscapes, with beautiful views of the surrounding wilderness.

As you approach Kikelewa Cave Camp, the spectacular peaks and rugged formations around Mawenzi become increasingly visible.

After arriving at camp, spend the afternoon resting, hydrating and allowing your body to adjust to the higher elevation.

Mawenzi Tarn is one of the most scenic camps on the Rongai Route and provides a beautiful setting for acclimatization. Upon arrival, enjoy the dramatic views surrounding the camp and take time to rest.

Mawenzi Tarn Camp – Acclimatization Day

Day 06 :

Mawenzi Tarn Camp – Kibo Hut

Elevation: Approximately 4,330 m to 4,730 m

After breakfast, continue your journey across the high-altitude landscape between Mawenzi and Kibo. The route crosses the open Saddle, a vast and dramatic alpine desert located between Kilimanjaro's two famous volcanic peaks.
The scenery is rugged and otherworldly, with little vegetation and spectacular views of the surrounding mountain environment. You will arrive at Kibo Hut, where you will enjoy an early dinner and prepare your equipment for the summit attempt.
Get some rest before beginning the final ascent toward Uhuru Peak shortly after midnight.

Day 07 :

Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Hut

Elevation: 4,730 m to 5,895 m to 3,720 m
